This weekly drawing group offers time and space for individuals who wish to continue to hone their drawing skills in an independent environment. Participants work indoors in the light-filled Benenson Visitors Center and gallery or outdoors in the landscape of The Fields sculpture park.

Art Omi: Education is pleased to present a workshop series dedicated to the art of the comic book and graphic novel. This series will take place each Wednesday over the course of six weeks from April 17 - May 22, 2019.
During the course, students will learn about:
- Creating a six-pager
- Character Bible: age, background, fears, etc.
- Beginning, middle, end, and twist of a story
- Panels and balloons
- Drawing techniques
- The course concludes with the Graphic Novel Show where students share and talk about their work. No drawing ability necessary!
All students will receive a copy of Barbara Slate’s latest book, You Can Do A Graphic Novel: Comic Books, Webcomics, and Strips, 2018.
Barbara Slate’s work was praised as “emphatically of our time” by The New York Times and “titanically talented” by comics legend Stan Lee.
